ECHO and UN - All you need to know to work together

What is it?

This course has been designed with the contribution of UN representatives in order to make participants more confident in applying the FAFA and its General Conditions in the programming, implementation and conclusion of DG ECHO Actions.
This training will be provided in asynchronous modality, therefore lessons will be available on the distance learning platform at any time. Training modules will be delivered through presentations completed by background speech, visual effects and exercises.

Who can participate?

This training clarifies roles and responsibilities in the management of Actions of both DG ECHO and UN staff, therefore is addressed to UN staff with basic knowledge on DG ECHO rules and procedures and can be used by DG ECHO staff needing a refresh on specific FAFA issues.

What are the main contents?

The course is structured around eight sessions which are organised according to the project cycle. The main topics include an overview of working modalities between UN agencies and DG ECHO and the financing methods (multidonor, notional approach), the preparation phase (including indications on how to fill in the Single Form section by section), the implementation phase (including eligibility issues, procurement procedures, modifications, reporting) and the closing phase (including the winding up, the final reports and the verification). This course includes exercises and tests to allow participants to practice and to check on progress.
