16/12/2011 - NEW The European Commission has adopted the worldwide decision on the financing of humanitarian aid operational priorities from the 2012 general budget of the European Union. The decision, worth €639,000,000, includes five specific objectives. The period for the implementation of the actions financed under this Decision shall start from 1st January 2012 and shall run for 24 months.

31/01/2011 - GOING WORLDWIDE The European Commission has adopted its first ever worldwide funding decisions for humanitarian assistance under a new system designed to speed up and streamline aid delivery. The main decision, worth more than €564 million, is to fund relief operations in crisis zones across the world. Two other decisions, adopted at the same time, provide €34.3 million for risk reduction and preparedness work in disaster-prone areas and €24 million to help build the capacity of partner organisations involved in delivering the aid on the ground. The decisions are valid for 24 months.
