  • 07/01/2013 - NEW The European Commission has adopted the worldwide decision on the financing of humanitarian aid operational priorities from the 2013 general budget of the European Union. The decision, worth € 661,419,000 includes five specific objectives. The period for the implementation of the actions financed under this Decision shall start from 1st January 2013 and shall run for 24 months.

  • 10/10/2012 - NEW The ECHO annual report has been eventually published on the official website. There are now two versions:
    The official/institutional report from the Commission to Parliament and Council with all annexes is available for Partners and other interested parties as a download here: http://ec.europa.eu/echo/about/annual_reports_en.htm It will not be printed.
    The summary report of 16 pages with info graphics, photos and stories from the field for the public at large is available as a download here, but will be printed and also converted to an e-book for free download later on: http://ec.europa.eu/echo/media/publications/leaflets-booklets_en.htm
  • 26/09/2012 - NEW For the current DG ECHO’s annual conference Partners’ stands have been presented directly online. Welcome to the new virtual stands!!
  • 10/09/2012 - The registration process to the DG ECHO's Partners' Conference 2012 will be open from 3rd September until 24th September 2012. Registrations must be submitted through the online registration form either in English or French language.
  • 10/09/2012 - UPDATED A new version of the APPEL User Manual in English language has been released and is available in the section etools. French version will be available soon.
  • 06/07/2012 - UPDATED The European Commission has adopted an amendment of the worldwide decision on the financing of humanitarian aid operational priorities from the 2012 general budget of the European Union. The amendment, worth €110,000,000, brings the total available amount up to €749,900,000. The updated amount has been allocated to six crisis/countries where the allocation was increased in view of new arising needs or the worsening nature of the crisis (Sahel, Iraq, Pakistan, Yemen, Bangladesh, Burma/Myanmar and Thailand) and three new crises (Syrian crisis, South East Asia and South America).   • 04/07/2012 - NEW The 2012 Annual Partners Conference will take place on 17 October in Brussels! This year Partners Conference is organised in parallel with ECHO 20th anniversary closing events, which will take place on 16 October.   • 18/06/2012 - NEW ECHO-UN Guidelines have been published! They present in a single document a synthesis of texts relevant to the UN when implementing EU humanitarian aid.

  • 22/02/2011 - WARNING: The guidelines and fact sheets apply to all ongoing agreements as of 1 November 2010 and to any agreement signed after that date.
    The internet version on DG ECHO's website of the FPA and FAFA supporting documents (fact sheets, guidelines, etc.) takes precedence over booklets published by DG ECHO or any other paper publication.
  • 31/01/2011 - GOING WORLDWIDE The European Commission has adopted its first ever worldwide funding decisions for humanitarian assistance under a new system designed to speed up and streamline aid delivery. The main decision, worth more than €564 million, is to fund relief operations in crisis zones across the world. Two other decisions, adopted at the same time, provide €34.3 million for risk reduction and preparedness work in disaster-prone areas and €24 million to help build the capacity of partner organisations involved in delivering the aid on the ground. The decisions are valid for 24 months.

  • 18/01/2011 - Due to a maintenance upgrade by the IT service center, scheduled tonight the 18th, the APPEL training environment will not be available from 19 to 23 hours (Brussels Time). From Wednesday the training environment will be fully operational again.
