FAQ 39 - What types of modifications affecting transfer modalities require a formal amendment procedure?

Any changes affecting the mandatory information required for cash transfers or value-based vouchers must go through a mutual consent procedure.

FAQ 123 - If amending the MGA takes time and risks delaying implementation - especially in the context of emergencies where agreements with other participants are time sensitive - is DG ECHO considering any type of prior approvals or simplified procedures in such cases?

The time limit for approving or rejecting an amendment under the MGA is 45 days (previously 30 under FPA 2014). While formal prior approvals are not possible, in emergency situations, the Desk Officer may give informal approval by e-mail, pending acceptance of the amendment.
